Yes they can, but by the time the chemicals get mixed in with the wash water they are usually so dilute that they don't do too much damage. You can get into the habit of flushing it out and that can extend the life.

I think I paid 2500 for the OWS and yes you just plumb them and add as many as you like

Kinda on the same line ... wondering about surfce cleaners ... Casters or not to caster is thy question ...
With a recovery unit, the surface cleaner has to have casters...a floater won't float if it's sucked down to the ground.
