2010 UAMCC National Convention

I spoke with our convention planner this morning. She has multiple bids out for the UAMCC in preparation of our 2010 Convention. The Marriott in Orlando came to her with a price increase in the rooms ($130-$140) for us. Naturally she said that this was unacceptable and is waiting to hear back from them on the "adjustment". Beyond that, Deb (convention planner) has also reached out to other facilities in Orlando, New Orleans and I think Lexington for price quotes and comparison.

She is also going to look at a Cruise Convention possibility with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines. This would be a 3-4 day convention cruise for the UAMCC. Port departures will either be Miami, New Orleans or Galveston. Port of calls will be in the Caribbean somewhere. She is just checking this out for us to consider.

She anticipates having something to us by mid-December for us to look at and consider.

Crusie is nice,but it depends on what time of the year.hurricane season hits the Carribean in Sept/Oct...also depends on price.
and do you really want to be stuck on a boat with everyone for 4 days,LOL,hahaha

Lets see what the event planner has to offer and/or suggest! Time can only tell....

We have tried a cruise. It failed miserably. Out of a possible few hundred 15 showed up. As far as room price, we are paying $179.00 in Phoenix next January with PDCA. Qualiy rooms are not cheep. If possible, could we send out a blast e mail to members only for their opinion? Thank you.
